It has been suggested to add the ability to select which lists the user would like to subscribe to. We had planned to add this in the beginning, but wanted to get the plug-in released and decided to add it to a later version.

We are currently working on this feature and hope to release the upgrade soon.

The new feature will allow the user to select which lists they would like to subscribe to during the registration process AND in their profile.
I'd love to change the world... but they won't give me the source code!

Thank you! We are currently working on the upgrade as I type. Our goal is to have the first version of the upgrade (including lists management) completed by the end of this week. We hope to be able to offer it to everyone who has already purchased the current version free of charge, only asking that they help us make sure all the bugs have been worked out. Otherwise it will be available for $20 USD.
We also hope to add a quick video showing off the new features. Keep a look out for that over the next few weeks.

We gave much thought to whether or not we wanted to keep the lists data in the database and decided against it because of the fact that all users still have the ability to manage lists directly in Constant Contact, potentially making our list outdated. Therefore, the list selections are only maintained via Constant Contact.

Now, all that said, due to how we had to develop this plugin and how the API functions, we do have a field in the comprofiler table that "tries" to maintain the list selections. This is by no means a list that we rely on, simply we use it on occasion for various reasons (too many to mention here). If you would like the break down, I'd be happy to elaborate if you want to contact us via email.

Is this feature still something thats being worked on? For some reason i was thinking this was already part of the module, but apparently all this does currently is 1) Allow you to automatically sign people up for a list when they register and 2) See which lists they are registered for.

Any changes appear to require they log into constant contact, or am I crazy?

Yes, this feature has been rolled out. If you are not seeing the colored lists, hidden lists and list ID's when logged in as a Super Administrator, then I would like to speak with you directly to debug your installation. Please see email I've sent.

Also, I'm not understanding your last remark, "Any changes appear to require they log into constant contact, or am I crazy?"
They as in your users? No, the changes are immediate to the profile. You should not need to log in to CC.

Hello,

Thank you for the quick response the other night, unfortunately I wasn't able to follow up until this evening, but upon further investigation I think I see where some of my misunderstanding is, and hope that this is something you are able/trying to implement in the future.

It looks like everything works fine, when you are registering an account, i get the two test lists I have setup, and am able to select which of them or both that i might want to be subscribed to.

What I thought would be working in addition to this is that when i went to edit my profile under community builder, and went to the newsletter subscriptions tab, where it currently shows me the lists that are available/subscribed (and as super admin I do indeed see the list numbers), i thought a user would have the ability to add more subscriptions by checking other list(s) they were not intially on, or to unsubscribe by unchecking a box, thus generating the api calls to constant contact to do this. Thats what appears to not work and doesn't work as such on your side either so I don't think its me, but rather something not yet implemented.

Ideally I would want my users o be able to choose to subscribe and/or unsubscribe from lists right from my site using their CB profile tab for the newsletters.

Thanks again!

Stephanie
